After you’ve created your account, there are two main ways of helping refugees.
On Haven, supporters post offers and refugees post requests
By posting an offer, you are offering to help a refugee with a specific task. Once your offer is posted, refugees will be able to send you a message if they are interested in your offer
From there, its up to you to decide which refugee to help. Once you have accepted a refugee’s response, it’s a match and we put you two in touch!
Refugees post requests for help on Haven. Once you make your account, you’ll be able to see these requests on the Discover page. You’ll also be able to filter these requests by location, by request type, and by refugees whose requests match your offers.
Once you’ve found a refugee that you want to help, you can respond to their request. Once that refugee has accepted your response, it’s a match!
There are so many different ways of helping refugees coming to Canada.
From meeting a refugee to hear their story, to helping them practice their English or French, to helping them look for an apartment, to helping them find a job - every little bit help

We’ve made it easy to start using our platform. We’ll need some info to create your profile, and then you’re off to the races!
The most important part of account creation is your ID verification. To ensure the safety of both Canadians and refugees, all users on Haven are ID-verified. We work with our awesome partners at Certn to make this happen
