Haven is a simple, inspiring and fun way of providing critical support to refugees arriving in Canada

After you’ve created your account, there are two main ways of helping refugees.

1. Create an offer

On Haven, supporters post offers and refugees post requests

By posting an offer, you are offering to help a refugee with a specific task. Once your offer is posted, refugees will be able to send you a message if they are interested in your offer

From there, its up to you to decide which refugee to help. Once you have accepted a refugee’s response, it’s a match and we put you two in touch!

2. Respond to a refugee’s request

Refugees post requests for help on Haven. Once you make your account, you’ll be able to see these requests on the Discover page. You’ll also be able to filter these requests by location, by request type, and by refugees whose requests match your offers.

Once you’ve found a refugee that you want to help, you can respond to their request. Once that refugee has accepted your response, it’s a match!

Refugees need all kinds of help when they first arrive in Canada. On Haven, you can get involved however you’d like - whether big or small, your help goes a long way

There are so many different ways of helping refugees coming to Canada.

From meeting a refugee to hear their story, to helping them practice their English or French, to helping them look for an apartment, to helping them find a job - every little bit help
