Imagine leaving your home under the sound of gunfire and falling bombs. The refugees on Haven often have had to quickly pack what they could into suitcases, leave behind their possessions, friends, jobs - their entire lives - and set off to find safety
These people are now coming to Canada. They often arrive barely knowing anyone, not having a place to live, or a job, or a support network
We’ve divided ways of helping refugees on Haven into six categories. However, don’t think that this is the full list – we want Canadians to get creative. Use the “Custom” category to post your own personalized offers that don’t fit into our categories
Refugees want to meet Canadians. Creating a new social support network is a critical way of helping, and we hope its a fun and rewarding experience for Canadians as well.
Refugees have skills to offer. Getting them the right job, which makes use of their skills, is critical for their successful resettlement in Canada
