Step 3: Include all relevant information in your resume.
- Include your contact information and put it at the top of the resume: Name, telephone number, email, LinkedIn profile link, personal website, links to previous work.
- You should have a list of work experience first and then education experience after. Arrange your work experience from most recent to least recent. Same for education.
- Collect details on professional skills, certifications, and awards, and add these at the end if there’s space.
Step 4: Make sure to have a short summary or objective at the top of your resume.
- Write a short and powerful summary statement that showcases your skills and experience. It can also include your own personal story similar to the one you wrote on Haven’s website.
- Use keywords from the job posting to make your summary stand out.
Step 5: Make sure your resume is properly formatted and organized.
- Use headings to organize your resume into clear and readable sections. “Summary” should be first, then “Work experience”, than “Education”, and then anything else relevant.
- Use bullet points to list your achievements and skills, maximum 3-5 bullet points per job.
Step 6: Focus on your most recent, relevant, and impressive work experience.
- Use specific examples to show your contributions and achievements.
