3. Here are some best practices for your first call.

  1. Arrive on-time, but give each other a 5 minute grace period - something may have come up!
  2. Make sure your camera is on and well-placed (so that you are in the centre of the screen).
  3. Double-check with your buddy that they can hear you well.
  4. Set expectations. To be as useful as possible, you should be comfortable providing feedback to your buddy on what they can improve with their language. You should also know exactly what they want to work on. Read our Introductions and Learning Goals guide for more on this.
