What you need to know.

Haven offers refugees language learning help. This comes in three parts:

1. Online private classes with professional teachers. We primarily employ refugees who were teachers back home.
2. Online conversation practice with Canadian volunteers. This is where you come in!
3. Individual e-learning. We give access to the best e-learning materials in Canada.

So, what is conversation practice?

We don’t expect you to teach a refugee English or French. Instead, this should be a simple conversation that you have with someone that is new to Canada.

This is a rare opportunity for a refugee to speak in a relaxed setting with a Canadian.

By having a 30 minute conversation with a refugee, you are giving them a rare opportunity to practice their speaking and listening in a safe, relaxed environment.
